This year’s running of the Tour de France has certainly been compulsive viewing, and as ITV4 are showing each stage of that race live, you may have been sat at home watching it.
There have been of course plenty of people who have been betting on that event too, and today is Stage 13 of the race being staged which is known as the Bourg D’Oisans – Valence stage, and you can of course place bets before the start on just which rider you think will win it.
In fact, many betting sites are now also offering in-play betting markets, so as you are watching the race unfold you can continue to bet on it.
There are however two joint favourites to win stage 13 and they are Arnaud Demare and Peter Sagan and the very best odds I have so far come across this morning are being offered by Betfred and they are offering 9/4 on both of those two riders.
There are a handful of other riders that could come out on top and they include Alexander Kristoff at 7/1, John Degenkolb and Edvald Boasson Hagen both readily available at odds of 14/1 and also Sonny Colbrelli who does look something of a value bet at Betfred at odds of 16/1 to win Stage 13!
Each-Way Value on Maximiliano Richeze
One thing that you may be blissfully aware of regarding betting on any stage of the Tour de France is that you are always going to have the option of placing an each-way bet rather than a single outright winner bet.
Therefore the likes of Maximiliano Richeze at 25/1 and even riders such as Christophe Laporte, Philippe Gilbert and Magnus Nielsen at 33/1 or even Nikias Arndt and Greg Van Avermaet at 40/1 are worth an each-way bet especially as Betfred are offering one quarter of the win odds on the first three placed finishers in that stage!
Much Higher Valued Odds
All of the riders that I have so far mentioned are going to give you some semi decent winning pay-outs if you bet on them and they do go on to win, however keep in mind too that there are some outriders who may just strike gold today and some even bigger odds.
A few riders that could win this stage, but only if everything does go their way when riding in it include riders such as Daryl Impey and Jasper Stuyven, who can be bet on at odds as high as 50/1.
By shopping around and comparing the odds available at a range of different betting sites you are going to find that you can bag odds of 66/1 on Yves Lampaert, or get some much higher odds of a whopping 100/1 on riders such as Oliver Naesen, Arthur Vichot, Arthur 100/1 and also on Sep Vanmarcke too!
But as the odds do reflect each rider’s realistic chance of winning, I would urge you not to get too carried away when you do fancy betting on some of the outsiders!
