This year’s Tour de France may seem like a very distant memory now, but for all of you who do enjoy betting on cycling races that are made up of a huge number of stages spread over several weeks you are going to be interested to learn about this year’s Vuelta a España.
That Spanish race will be starting tomorrow on the 25th of August and will be running right through until the 16th of September, and one of our featured betting sites, that being Betfred are offering their usual ante post outright betting markets on that race, as you will find out below.
As for where the supposed smart money is going on this event, it is both Richie Porte at 11/4 and Simon Yates at 10/3 that have been the most backed riders to date, however it isn’t going to be an easy race to win and any of the other fancied riders could of course come out on top.
The likes of both Nairo Quintana at 11/2 and Miguel Angel Lopez at 7/1 are worth a punt if you have had your eye on either of them recently, for there is a lot to like away the way they ride and their raw talent too, so keep that in mind if you are not sure of which riders to back!
Bag Some Each-Way Value
You could quite easily be of the mind that none of the above riders are going to win this year, and if that is the case you should consider backing some rider’s each-way such as Alejandro Valverde at 10/1 or Fabio Aru at 16/1.
By doing so Betfred will give you one quart of the win odds and pay tot three places, which does of course mean that the likes of Rigoberto Uran, Vincenzo Nibali and also Wilco Kelderman who are all in which a chance of winning at 20/1 or at least getting placed are value bets!
Lesser Fancied Vuelta a España Riders
Some of the riders taking part in this racing event are available at huge odds of 750/1 and those riders include for reference Giovanni Visconti, Sergio Pardilla and Gianluca Brambilla, but let’s face it none of them are likely to win or get placed!
With that in mind if you are looking for the chance of some hefty winning pay-outs, betting each-way or when placing an outright winner bet let me point you in the direction of some riders who do have the abilities, if everything does fall into place of winning this year or at the very least getting placed n positions one, two or three.
Those riders include Thibaut Pinot at 25/1, Richard Carapaz at 33/1 and there is also the very real chance that Steven Kruijswijk, Emanuel Buchmann or even Enric Mas Nicolau could win, and what is very appealing over at the BetFred betting site is that they are going 40/1 on each of those three riders!
